Click the NEW button on the LeaderGuide Pro ribbon to start a new Facilitator Guide.
This will open the START A NEW GUIDEBOOK dialog box.
Use the START A NEW GUIDEBOOK dialog box to set up your base guidebook
Name: Add the name of your course as you want it to appear on your cover page
This can be edited once you are in your new document
ID: Add an optional Course ID
This can be used to help you search for your document in Windows File Explorer
Type: Select the type of guidebook you are creating
We recommend that you start by building a Facilitator Guide
Then, when you are ready, you can use the LeaderGuide Pro Extract function to extract a Participant Guide from your Facilitator Guide
This allows you to sync content & page number references between the two companion guidebooks
Columns: We recommend using 3-column for Facilitator Guides and 2-column for Participant Guides.
Collection: Select the Collection to use, to set the look & feel of your new Facilitator Guide.
Click on Custom to see the list of included Collections.
We suggest starting a new guidebook using each Collection, so that you can choose the one(s) you prefer. If you do this, use the Collection Name as the Course Name.
Exclude TAG - only click this if you do not want a Training at a Glance included in your new facilitator guide
Print: We recommend leaving this setting as 2-Sided.
This way, if you physically print your Facilitator Guide, it will be set up properly - like a book.
Preferences: You only need to click on Preferences if you want to access the LeaderGuide Pro Preferences form, where you adjust global settings that impact your documents.
The Preferences can be accessed at any time by clicking the Parts button on the LeaderGuide Pro ribbon.
Logo: You can click on the LeaderGuide Pro logo at any time for more information about using the Start a New Guidebook dialog box.
Video camera: Click to access a video about using the Start a New Guidebook dialog box.
OK: Click OK to start the build of your new Facilitator Guide. You will be prompted to Save your new file.
When prompted, SAVE your new Guidebook
File Name: The file name will appear as your course name, appended with the phrase “Leader Guide”
Edit the File Name as needed
Save: Click Save
After you SAVE, you will see the Guidebook Design Template dialog box.
This new feature of LeaderGuide Pro allows you to quickly and easily drop in your course outline.
