Content Blocks are automatically formatted for you. And you can enhance the formatting.
Here is an example of an Activity block as it looks when it is inserted by clicking Activity in the ILT Content Blocks drop-down menu. The Collection in use is the Default Collection.
Column one contains the Activity icon.
Every icon has an LGP Style and this one is zLGPIconGroupActivity
Because when you want to go to a specific Content Block type - like “Activity” - or when you run an extract from one guidebook to another, LeaderGuide Pro searches for the style names of the Content Blocks you request -- because it can’t “see” the icons the way we do.
Column two starts with a call to action headline for the instructor, formatted in LGP Title style.
LGP Title is a Bold font
Depending on the Collection, LGP Title is sometimes a different font than the regular paragraph text font, which is called LGP Text.
After you click Enter to move from the LGP Title line to a new paragraph, or if you place your cursor right below the headline, the font changes to LGP Text, which is normal - not bold.
And depending on the Collection, LGP Text is sometimes a different font than the LGP Title headline text.
Column three starts with a placeholder paragraph mark, formatted in LGP Title style.
Text in this column works the same way as text in column 2.
Here is an example of the same Activity block as it looks after simply typing in some instructions, using the LGP Text style, without any extra formatting.
Column one contains the Activity icon and that is all.
Do not type in Column one.
Column two starts with the call to action headline for the instructor, formatted in LGP Title style.
Instructions have been added, using the regular LeaderGuide Pro paragraph text font, which is called LGP Text.
Column three starts with a placeholder paragraph mark, formatted in LGP Title style.
Additional guidance for the instructor has been added.
Here is an example of the same Activity block as it looks after enhancing the formatting by using the numbering and bulleting options in the Text/Table Formatting group on the LGPro ribbon and adding time using the ICues task pane.
Column one contains the Activity icon and a Time for the Activity.
The Time was added by opening the ICues task pane from the Insert group on the LGPro ribbon and typing the “8” into the Time box next to the Clock in the task pane.
Column two starts with the call to action headline for the instructor, formatted in LGP Title style and enhanced with the name of the activity.
The instructions have been numbered, to make them more clear. The LGP Number style uses the LGP Text associated with the Collection in use.
Column three has been enhanced with a ICue calling out something the instructor need to do by adding an ICue icon and a brief verbal cue in the LGP Title style.
The additional guidance for the instructor has been enhanced by making it a bullet, to better draw the instructor’s eye to it.
