The Guidebook Design Template is presented to you as you start a new Facilitator Guide.

Use the Guidebook Design Template to:

  • Lay in your course outline, in the form of Modules and Lessons

    • Modules are topics

      • Lessons are subtopics - they must be indented by at least one space as you add or edit Lesson names

  • Add Module Goals

    • These will appear on the Module Overview pages in your facilitator guide

  • Add Lesson Times

    • These will appear in the Lesson Time blocks on the first page of each Lesson in your facilitator guide

    • Lesson Times are automatically added up and placed on the Module Overview pages as Module times

  • Add Lesson Objectives

    • These will appear in the Lesson Objective blocks on the first page of each Lesson in your facilitator guide if you select the Preference to include Lesson Objective Blocks

Once you click on the OK button:

  • Your course outline is used to build the macrostructure of your new guidebook

Good to Know

Once your new guidebook is ready, you will be able to:

  • Edit the Module and Lesson names, goals, times & objectives you add via the Guidebook Design Template

  • Add more Modules and Lessons

  • Archive, Reorder & Delete Modules and Lessons

You can also add and Save a course outline in the Guidebook Design Template by:

  1. Clicking Librarian on the LGPro ribbon

  2. Selecting Start Guidebook Design Template

To set Preferences

  1. Click Parts on the LGPro ribbon

  2. Select LeaderGuide Pro Preferences

Six different Design Template course outlines are included

To view to pre-populated outlines:

  • Click the round radio buttons to view the various preloaded design templates of module and lesson structures

  • You can edit, add to, and delete content in the outline textboxes

Guidebook Design Template Options

You can SAVE & reuse custom templates

After adding and editing Module and Lesson names, Module Goals and Lesson Times:

  1. Click the Save icon in the right corner of the Guidebook Design Template form

  2. Click My Custom Templates in the left column of outline options in the form to then access and use your saved outline

After you finish with the Guidebook Design Template and your course outline is added to your new Facilitator Guide, you will see this question:

Are you ready to add images to your document now?

  • This is about importing PowerPoint slides and, optionally, the slide notes.

  • If you click NO:

    • You will be taken into your new Facilitator Guide, and you can begin working in the document.

    • Please proceed to Module 3 of this Course to learn how to add content.

  • If you click YES:

    • You will be moved through several more steps to import PowerPoint and complete the set up of your new Facilitator Guide.

    • Please proceed to Module 2 of this Course to learn how to import slides and notes.
