Hover your cursor over any button to see a screen tip telling you what the button does for you.
If you do not see the screen tips
In Word, click File > Options
In Word Options: ScreenTip style, select the option to Show feature descriptions in ScreenTips
Good to Know
Pay attention to where your cursor is BEFORE clicking these buttons
The action you request will take place where your cursor is sitting
Allow time for the action you request to be completed
