Customizing the Learning Objective Criteria

The Learning Objective Criteria are the measures you will use to determine whether learners have mastered the learning objectives in your courses.

They appear in the Add Measurement Criteria pulldown menu in the Learning Objectives dialog box.

The Learning Design Tool includes a set of default criteria that you can easily edit. To begin:

  • Click Customize on the e Learning Design Tool ribbon

  • Select Learning Objective Criterion

  • Use the Customize Learning Objective Criteria Options dialog box to set your criteria

To edit a criterion on the list:

  • Click Unselect to clear the Editing Box

  • Click a Criterion to select it and add it to the Editing Box

  • Make your edits in the Editing Box

  • Click Apply

To remove a criterion on the list:

  • Click Unselect to clear the Editing Box

  • Click a Criterion to select it and add it to the Editing Box

  • Click Remove

  • Click Apply

To add a new criterion to the list:

  • Click Unselect to clear the Editing Box a

  • Type or paste in your criteria

  • Click Add

  • All new criteria that you add are placed at the bottom of the list

To adjust a criterion’s location in the list:

  • Select it

  • Use Move Up or Move Down

Overall ordering of the List

  • Our lists are in ascending alphabetical order but this is not required

  • Your list can be in any order that you prefer

  • To automatically sort a list by either ascending or descending alphabetical order, click Sort and select your preferred order

Use this form to create a list of commonly used and organizationally approved criteria that you can quickly plug into your learning objective descriptions.

Good to Know

Nothing is FINAL until you click APPLY

  • After adding, removing, updating, sorting in ascending or descending order, nothing happens to the master list you are working on until you click Apply.
