Ways to Begin Building a Facilitator Guide

• Open the slide file you want to import.
• Close any other PowerPoint files.
• Click the LeaderGuide Pro tab along the top of your screen in Word to bring up the LGPro ribbon.
• Click NEW on the LGPro ribbon to start a new Facilitator Guide.
• After saving your document, say “YES” to the question: Are you ready to add images to your document now?
• Then, follow the prompts to import your slides.
• You can also import your slide notes, and even the text on your slides.

• Open the Word version of the non-LeaderGuide Pro document and save a copy.
• Delete any cover page or Table of Contents.
• Click the LeaderGuide Pro tab along the top of your screen in Word to bring up the LGPro ribbon.
• Click Parts > Convert to LGPro Format on the LGPro ribbon and follow the prompts.
• Once the conversion is complete, use the buttons on the LGPro ribbon to format text and move content on your Lesson pages into LGPro Content Blocks.

• Click on the LeaderGuide Pro tab along the top of your screen in Word to bring up the LGPro ribbon.
• Click NEW on the LGPro ribbon to start a new guidebook.
• Use the Start a New Guidebook dialog box to set up your Facilitator Guide, click OK, and follow the prompts to Save your file.
• In your new document, go to the New Module page.
• Type over “New Module” with name of the first topic in your outline.
• Go the the next page and change “New Lesson” to the first subtopic in your outline.
• If there is another subtopic under your first topic, click the Lesson button on the LGPro ribbon to add a new Lesson page.
• Replace “New Lesson” with the name of the next subtopic.
• Repeat as needed.
• When ready to add your next topic, click Module on the LGPro ribbon.
• Replace “New Module” with the name of your next topic and click OK.
• You will then see “New Lesson” because every Module has at least one lesson.
• Replace “New Lesson” with the name of this Module’s first subtopic.
• Add more Lessons (subtopics) by clicking Lesson on the LGPro ribbon.
• Once you have added all of your Modules and Lessons, update your Table of Contents by clicking the Update All Fields button in the Controls group on the LGPro ribbon.
• Click Go To in the Controls group on the LGPro ribbon to go to the Table of Contents and verify that you have added your Outline correctly.
• Edit Module and Lesson names by going to the first page of the Module or Lesson and changing the name on the page.
• Click Update All Fields to refresh your Table of Contents.
• Click Go To to navigate to your Table of Contents to see your changes.
• Start building out your Lessons by adding Content Blocks from the LGPro ribbon.
• Type in your content. Or use Paste Special on the LGPro ribbon to paste in content from other sources.

Open the Word document.
Click the LeaderGuide Pro tab along the top of your screen in Word to bring up the LGPro ribbon.
Click ATTACH in the Start group on the LeaderGuide Pro Ribbon.
Follow the prompts.

• Click NEW to start a new guidebook.
✔️ TIP: Build a Facilitator Guide first. Then use the LeaderGuide Pro Extract function to create a Participant Guide from your Facilitator Guide.
• Once you have saved your new document, go to the New Module page and type in the name of your first topic, which LeaderGuide Pro refers to as a Module.
• Go to the next page and replace “New Lesson” with the name of your first subtopic. LeaderGuide Pro refers to subtopics as Lessons. and every Module has at least one lesson.
• Now you are ready to start adding content to the Lesson page.
• Use the Content Blocks on the LeaderGuide Pro ribbon to chunk and contain your content.
• Click on a Content Block to add it to the Lesson page. Then type in your content.
