Importing content involves opening source documents. Upon the closing of a source document, if you have the optional Course ID feature enabled you will be asked if you want to embed the Course ID reference into the source document being closed. This is handy for keeping an easy Windows searchable reference to all electronic documents that contributed to your Learning Design Document’s content. However …
Embedding the Course ID reference into a source document requires re-saving the source document. Thus, the “last date modified” will change on the source document. If that is a problem, then you might not want to allow the embedding of the Course ID reference into the source documents.
How to Import Analysis Data
With your Design Document on your screen and your source content documents closed, click Import Analysis Data on the LDT ribbon and...
Click Open and navigate to your source document
Select a Content Type category and highlight the relevant content in your source document
Click Import in the dialog box. Repeat step 2 as needed.
If you need to open another document to obtain additional information, click Open again in the dialog box.
You will be asked if you are done with the currently open source document. If you say Yes that file will be closed as the new source document is opened.
When done, click Done in the Import dialog box.
